The Sheppee Lehr Loader,
with patented movements, was first introduced to the Glass Industry in 1948.
Large numbers of this unit have been supplied to Glass Manufacturers throughout
the world.
The unit is supplied in RH or LH format, complete with
characteristic patented hinged portion on the pushbar, a ware-steady mechanism,
lehr dead-late and woven wire conveyor belt. It incorporates road wheels for
quick and easy removal of the unit from in front of the lehr, making the lehr
mouth readily accessible to routine maintenance. The loader has a red warning
light that flashes should operation be obstructed. |

| The Lehr Loader and cross
conveyor units are driven by Reluctance Synchronous motors via a variable speed
gearbox. The motion of the pushbar follows a spiral cam, driven a controlled by
a serrated clutch, with timing obtained from the trip panel on the delivery
conveyor end unit. |
