latest development to complement its long standing place in the market with
drive system technology.

Synchroflex uses
the very latest state of the art inverter technology, combined with its
traditional and proven range of 'Relsysn' motors.
The heart of the
system revolves around a new graphically based user interface system, employing
touch-screen controls for easy and reliable use. The stored program is
contained in the drives themselves. The user interface program runs from an
industrial PC running under Windows 95™.
The icon-based programme
is easy to use, as all operator functions are based on familiar production
terms rather than bespoke engineering terminology. Alarms and warnings are
clearly displayed. Engineering and commissioning settings are password
protected. These areas permit maximum and minimum settings, machine mechanical
gearing, electronic gearing, belt-stretch compensation and reduced section
working.
Controls are mounted behind an acrylic viewing window,
including the inverter parameter / operator displays, which clearly show
functions such as output frequency, motor current, motor speed, motor voltage,
temperature warnings, hours run and trip/ history records. |

Traditional 3 wire
reluctance synchronous motors (either 4 pole or 6 pole) are normally supplied.
These class F insulated motors require no form of encoder feedback to maintain
synchronous operation. This makes installation and maintenance very easy.
As a complement, ordinary asynchronous 'squirrel caged' motors with
encoders can be used. This specification is normally reserved for large
capacity systems. |

Overall the system has
'near unity' power factor and consumes considerably less power compared to
'Selsyn' or other electromechanical systems.
A combination of options
is available including, built in air conditioning, local isolators adjacent to
each motor, locally operated start / stop / advance / retard controls, group
operated controls and remote alarm displays. |

Synchroflex Jnr. (single inverter drive
system)
This system has been
designed as a cost effective solution for the synchronisation of multi- axis
production lines, using the same technology as Multi-Inverter system only using
a single inverter to drive all axes.
